Statement on Federal Court decision re: Ontario Premier/Deputy Premier summons to appear before Public Order Emergency Commission

In Rights by poladmin

The Federal Court’s decision confirms that the Public Order Emergency Commission had the legal authority to summons Premier Ford and Minister Jones. It is clear that they have evidence that is relevant and perhaps essential to the Commission’s mandate. We are disappointed, but unfortunately not surprised, that the Premier and Minister continue to assert parliamentary privilege to avoid testifying. The Commission’s work will be hampered by their refusal to appear.
