Is Internet access a basic right? Should access to high-speed Internet be considered a basic communication service?

 That is the question which the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is expected to weigh in today at Lets #TalkBroadband – the regulator’s public hearing on basic telecommunications services.

More than 25 000 comments were received by the CRTC during the first phase of the consultation which kicked off in April last year, and more than 30 000 Canadians filled out the questionnaire during the second phase. Read more at ITin Canada
